Glenn's career steamed ahead in the '80s featuring stints with HUGHES/THRALL, GARY MOORE, and BLACK SABBATH along with his very diverse solo work. From the early '90s up to currently Glenn has concentrated on his solo career and maintained his reputation as one of the most sought-after "guest artists" on sessions by a venerable "who's who" of Rock's elite.
While with TRAPEZE and DEEP PURPLE, Glenn used mainly HIWATT gear. His "live" set-up in DEEP PURPLE which consisted of 3 DR405 400 watt bass heads driving 6 to 9 Martin bass bins has become legendary among bass equipment enthusiasts, and no doubt was a source of constant frustration for Mr. Blackmore's Marshalls.
In the studio, where the shot below is from, Glenn used DR201 and 103 heads along with HIWATT and Marshall cabs to keep the sonic level down to below "earthquake" level.
